Dining Staff Member Gives Students The Support They Need

While students are aware that the Cyber Cafe is a place to find a variety of delicious food and drinks, students can also count on a great staff to support them.  

Some may not know her by name, but Tiana Pagan, a staff member of dining services, has made an impact on many students with her support and encouraging words.  

Pagan, who was born in Chicago and raised in Puerto Rico, said the students always make her happy. 

“They learn a lot about me,” she said.  “I also learn a lot about them [and] they’re all beautiful.”  

During the semester, Pagan discussed how she picks up on the stressful times. 

When the students come and tell her how they’re doing in the semester, she supports them by giving them words of encouragement.  

The bonds Pagan has created with students have extended from receiving flowers and chocolates to graduation invitations. 

Student Zephaniah Redmond said Pagan is “so sweet, motherly, and charismatic.”  

“I feel like you could tell her anything,” Zephaniah said.  

The support that students receive from Pagan is shown when she encourages students to work hard.  

If students are struggling, then they know where they can find the support they need.
