Social Media Campaign

Chicago Italian Beef

Project Brief

Over the course of the semester, you will complete a series of tasks and report these tasks in a series of papers. These tasks are designed to reflect the same steps a person or organization may undertake to develop a social media campaign for a strategic purpose: to persuade (marketing), to inform (journalism), and/or to entertain (entertainment).

You will choose a topic and type of campaign to suit your interests. The campaign can be for something real or fictional. Think about an interest you have and how you could develop a campaign to share your interest with a larger community.

List of Content for Campaign

The entire semester is structured to help you complete the tasks to produce this campaign.  When you are done, the tasks will yield a number of media productions to represent your knowledge and skills about these digital communication technologies.  Thus, the semester will help you to design, produce, and share a social media campaign of your own abilities and interests.

Before discussing each step in more detail, the following are main considerations:

  • This campaign will utilize different digital communication and social media technologies:

    • Website

    • Blog

    • Podcast series

    • Webseries

    • Social networking site

    • Mobile app

Featured Work

My First mockup is inspired by Pokémon Go, a playful app designed to take the user on a journey across Chicago. Instead of catching Pokémon's, users will navigate through a Chicagoland Beef Journey, and locating some of the visited and rated spots across the city.
